Chapter 1: One Jump Ahead
The next day in Cartoonia, somebody was running on the rooftops with a bread loaf in his hands. He's a seventeen year old boy with white hair, pale skin, blue eyes, and wearing a blue hoodie and tattered brown trousers. The boy stopped at an edge and looked down. "Should I jump or...." "STOP THIEF!" an angry voice shouted. The boy turned around and saw a punk-boy with black hair dyed green in his mohawk, a brown haired boy in a purple shirt, and a blonde rich-looking boy. They were being led by a black-haired man with a hump on his back, white shirt, black pants, and glasses.
"Morning, Duncan, Gary Oak, Remy Buxaplenty, and my dear old friend Mr. Crocker." The white haired boy said smirking. The black-haired man, now known as Mr. Crocker, yelled out, "I'll have your hands as a trophy, you street rat!" The boy, now known as Jack, cringed a bit. It made him feel lesser than a human being. He looked down on at the edge, before looking at his loaf of bread. "All this for a loaf of bread?" Jack said, joking a bit. Before Mr. Crocker and the boys could close in on Jack, Jack jumped off the roof, falling down. He landed on two ropes that were serving as clothespin. He skid down the rope, causing some clothes to fall on him. Before he got to the end of the rope, a woman named Chi-Chi (Dragon Balls) opened the window and saw Jack. Chi-Chi screamed out in alarm and closed the windows, causing the rope to fall and Jack to slam into the wall. Jack, now bundled in laundry, fell down through cloth-made roofs and fell to the ground. However, he got out unscathed and grabbed his bread in triumph.
"There he is!" Duncan yelled out. "Don't think you'll get off easily, peasant!" Remy shouted to Jack haughtily. Jack said to himself, "You think that's easy?" He heard some laughter. He turned around and saw three girls giggling, one an orange haired girl with her hair in a side pony-tail, a brown haired girl with a red bandana, and a blue-haired girl with a white-pink hat. Jack then saw Mr. Crocker at the edge of the alley. "Duncan! That way! You two! Follow me!" Jack sighed and put a blanket around him. He walked over to the three girls. He said, with a flirtatious smirk, "Morning, Misty, May, and Dawn." Misty smiled a bit, "A little too early to get in trouble today, Jack?" "You only get into trouble if you get caught," Jack said with a smirk. "GOTCHA!" yelled Crocker as he yanked Jack. "I'm in trouble." Jack groaned. "And this time..." Crocker said, drawing his sword, but then a figure jumped on him. Crocker, in shock, dropped Jack. Jack smiled as he saw the figure that jumped on Crocker. It's a small purple dragon with some green scales. "Good work, Spike!" Jack shouted at seeing his only friend. The dragon, Spike, smiled, "No problem, Jack!" "C'mon, let's get out of here!" Jack said, as he and Spike started to run off. Duncan and Remy then blocked the entrance.

Jack: Gotta keep...one jump ahead of the breadline/ One swing ahead of the sword

Spike blew a raspberry at Remy, angering him. Jack quickly pulled Remy's pants off, revealing boxers with pink hearts. Remy blushed. Gary swung his sword at Spike. However, he missed and ended up destroying a fish barrel. The fish fell on Gary.

Jack: I steal only what I can't afford

"And that's everything!" Jack added as he and Spike ran from the four. The four began to chase him.
Jack: One jump ahead of the lawmen/ That's all, and that's no joke/ These guys don't understand I'm broke!
Jack and Spike ran up to a bunch of barrels and knocked one down onto Mr. Crocker and the boys, causing them to be knocked down.

Duncan: Riffraff!
Remy: Street rat!
Gary: Scoundrel!
Mr. Crocker: Take that!

They threw a bunch of objects at Jack and Spike. The two dodged the objects and climbed up to the top of a shaky platform.

Jack: Just a little slack, guys!

Duncan, Gary, and Remy threw their swords at the two, though they dodge it. The three boys shook the platform, so the white haired boy and dragon could fall off.

Duncan, Gary, Remy: Rip him open, take it back guys!
Jack: I can take a hint, gotta face the facts!

Jack jumped off the platform, acting like he commited suicide. However, Spike, who is hanging on a pole nearby by his tail, grabbed Jack and they do an acrobatic act. The two enter in a room.

Jack: You're my only friend, Spike!

The two were in a harem where three beautiful but mean looking girls were in. One had white hair and light blue eyes, the second had dirty blonde hair and yellow eyes, the third had purple hair and green eyes. They were Icy, Darcy, and Storm. "Who?!" Icy, Darcy, and Storm said, annoyed at Jack and Spike. Spike was getting some fruit, stuffing them in his mouth.

Girls: Oh, it's sad, Loser Jack's hit the bottom/ He's become a one-man rise in crime.

The girls laughed a bit, annoying Jack. He used his ice powers on them. The girls became startled and fell off the window, causing them to land on a pig-pile. The girls were horrified and disgusted that their clothes were ruined. Jack smiled a bit. That should teach those mean girls a lesson. However, he was confronted by a very angry Mad Madam Mim. She clearly was not happy about Jack sending her girls on a pig pile.

Mad Madam Mim: I blame parents!

She stopped and said, "Oh wait!"

Mad Madam Mim: He hasn't got them!

Mad Madam Mim swung a broom at Jack. She kept swinging at him. Jack smiled sheepishly trying to calm her down.

Jack: Gotta eat to live/ Gotta steal to eat/ Tell you all about it when I got the time!

Mad Madam Mim, with her magic, pushed Spike and Jack out of the window, making their exit.

Jack: One jump ahead of the slowpokes/ One skip ahead of my doom.

Outside, a strongman named Hercules (Disney) was flexing his muscles proudly to a crowd while Crocker and his boys ran by. Jack imitated Hercules's moves while he was behind him. However, he made an error.

Jack: Next time going to use a nom de plume.

Then,  Jack and Spike paused in confusion. "What's a nom de plume?" Spike asked. Then, a nerdy-like geek named Harold came in and said, "A nom de plume is a pen name." He then walked out. "There he is!" Crocker yelled as he pointed to the thieves.

Jack: One jump ahead of the hitmen/ One hit ahead of the flock/ I think I'll take a stroll around the block.

During the chase, Jack and Spike were chased by Crocker's boys through a bunch of sheep and jumped over Shinji Akari lying on a bed of nails. Crocker, Gary, and Remy jumped over him too but Duncan accidently landed on Shinji, making him yelp in pain.  "Sorry!" Duncan said to Shinji, cringing a bit at his injuries. Spike had landed on a jewelry place, and was admiring his jewelry-covered body in a mirror. However, the owners of the jewelry place, Homer Simpson and his wife Marge Simpson spotted him.

Homer Simpson: Stop thief!
Marge Simpson: Vandal!

"Spike!" Jack yelled out in annoyance as he grabbed the dragon and ran off, catching the eye of a couple, Miruko and Sango.

Miruko: Outrage!
Sango: Scandal!

Jack and Spike found themselves cornered at a door by Crocker's men.

Jack: Let's not be too hasty.

The door opened and Veronica Starr came out and held Jack lovingly.

Veronica: Still I think/ He's rather tasty!

Jack got free of Veronica's grip and put his arm around Duncan like they're best friends.

Jack: Gotta eat to live/ gotta steal to eat/ Otherwise, we'd get along!

"Yeah, right!" Duncan, Remy, and Gary scoffed as they jumped on him, making a dust cloud. Once the dust cloud settled, Jack and Spike were gone. However, Crocker saw feet underneath a barrel that Jack and Spike were walking away. "Get them!" Crocker yelled as Jack and Spike ditched the barrel and ran off.

Jack and Spike used a pole to jump over a pile of coals. Duncan, Remy, and Gary ran across, getting their feet burnt in the process. Jack and Spike ran by Natsu Dragoneel, Happy, and Lucy Heartfilia. Jack ran back, secrectly grabbed a sword from Natsu, and jumped in front of Remy, Gary, Duncan, and Mr. Crocker, slashing at them.
Remy screamed like a little girl, "He's got a sword!" Duncan, Remy, and Gary backed away a bit in fear before Crocker became mad and shouted, "Idiots! We have swords!" Remy, Duncan, and Gary shouted, "Yeah!" in realization and took out their weapons. Spike ran off back to Jack.
Jack and Spike found themselves surronded by the four, who were running from left to right. Nearby, there was a rope trick. Jack and Spike climbed up in time for the four gaurds to crash into each other. However, Jack and Spike were still being chased.

Jack: One jump ahead of the hoofbeats!
Crowd: Vandal!
Jack: One hop ahead of the hump!
Crowd: Street Rat!
Jack: One trick ahead of disaster!
Crowd: Scoundrel!
Jack: They're quick... but I'm way faster!
Crowd: Take that!

Crocker and the boys chased Jack and Spike to a staircase into a room. Smirking, Jack grabbed a rug from nearby as he and Jack went to an open window.

Jack: Here goes/ better throw my hand in/ Wish me happy landing! / All I gotta do is... Jump!

Jack and Spike jumped out the window with the rug. Crocker and the boys jumped after but ended up just falling. They landed right onto a bunch of manure.
Later Jack and Spike were at an alley. "Good work, Spike!" Jack complimented as he and Spike looked at the loaf in bread at Jack's hands. Spike smiled, "Now let's feast!" The two split the bread in two and Jack gave Spike his piece. But just as Jack was about to eat, he saw a little girl nearby digging through trashcans. She was Vannellope Von Shweetz. Vannellope sighed sadly, as she saw there was no left-overs in the trashcan. However, she saw Jack looking at her and started to back away nervously. Jack then looked at his bread and Spike who was frowning at Jack. Jack sighed, walked over to Vannellope, and handed her the loaf of bread. "Huh? What's this?" the girl asked. "Here, take this." Jack said, holding his food out to her. "You want me to have this?" Vanellope asked. Jack nodded, "You need this more than me." Vannellope smiled and took Jack's offering. Spike saw this and said, "You know what?" He smiled and gave his piece to Vannellope. "Thanks." Vannellope said, with a smile on her face, as she petted Spike. With that she left. Then, a fanfare exploded. "What's that?" Spike asked in surprise. Jack and Spike got a closer look and saw someone riding a horse. The figure's a twenty year old man with blond bouncy hair, blue armor, and boots. He's Prince Charming. The crowd was watching him.
"He's on his way to the palace." Eri Kisaki said as she saw Prince Charming pass by. "Another suitor for Princess Elsa. She'll reject him like the other nineteen suitors." Kogoro Mouri added.
As Jack and Spike watched, they jumped in alarm as a little girl named Molly Hale giggling as she was playing on the street. She accidentally ran in front of Prince Charming, scaring the horse. "Get out of my way, brat!" Charming yelled as he got out a whip, about to hit her.

"Hey!" Jack yelled out as he ran in front of the whip. He stopped the whip. "If I was rich like you, I'd afford some matters!" Jack snarled. "I'll show you manners!" Prince Charming yelled as he pushed Jack into a nearby mud puddle. The crowd laughed at Jack's misfortune as Prince Charming began to ride off again. Jack then glared angrily and then smirked as he snapped, "Hey, Spike! I didn't know there is a horse with two rear ends!" Spike and Jack laughed, causing the horse to be offended by the remark and stop. Prince Charming was very annoyed and grunted, "You're nothing more than a worthless rat! You were born a street rat and you will die a street rat! Only that dragon and your fleas will mourn you!" He rode towards the palace. Jack, furious, ran to Prince Charming. However, Prince Charming had made his way to the palace. Jack looked down angrily and sadly. "I'm not worthless! I don't have fleas!" "Let's go home." Spike sighed sadly. Later, at night, Jack and Spike were on their way to their made-shift home. It only consisted of two beds. It did have a good view.

Jack: Riffraff, Street Rat/ I don't buy that/ If only they'd look closer/ Would they see a poor boy? (No siree)

Jack and Spike got into their made-shift bed and got ready to sleep for tonight.

Jack: They'd find out/ There's so much more to me.

Jack patted Spike on the head. He sighed and went over the curtain. He pulled it and saw a beautiful view of the palace. Jack sighed trying to comfort Spike and himself, "Just you wait, Spike. Things will be better. We'll be rich, live in a palace, and not have any problems at all."
