Chapter 5: Tai Vs. Zira

Later that day, the Mobians and the animals were doing their business. Tai is up to his old tricks again. He hid in the bushes ans smirked as he saw Cream eating a mango. Chuckling, he sneaks up behind her so he isn't seen. He is ready to scare her and as he got close he held his breath. Cream, bored, said, "Don't even think about it." Tai, letting out his breath, groaned as he swung in front of her, saying, "Mom! How did you know?" Cream said, smirking, "I'm your mom I know everything." Because of the tricks, she isn't as easily surprised by them anymore. Cream asked, "So where were you?" Tai smirked, "Hah! Thought you said you knew everything!" Just then, Tai saw Jake fighting some of the Mobians and began to win. Then, Jake tackled Tai and threw him, making him laugh. "Hi, aunt Cream! You look nice!" Jake complimented, before Tai tackles the dragon and begins to wrestle with him.

"Hi, Jake." Cream said, smiling. The two continued to wrestle as they tumbled in front of Shadow who groans as he shook his head. The other animals decide to avoid them. It's only natural. They rolled near Fluttershy, Rainbow Dash, Agumon, and Stitch. Fluttershy said in shock, "Watch out! It's all fun and games until someone gets hurt! And I think it's gonna be me!" The two kept fighting to outdo the other. Then, Tai manages to hold on to Jake's arms and his arms around Jake's head, trapping him. Tai smiles, the first time he had beaten Jake in a fight. Then, his focus is turned to when the bushes which are moving. Jake began to demand, "Hey, let go! Hey, let go! You won! Hello! Anyone home?" This broke Tai out of his trance and he let go of Jake, apologizing, "Sorry..."

"That was rough. What kind of animal are you?" Agumon asked, puzzled.. Tai didn't respond as he got closer to take a look at the bushes. "Maybe he's a Pegasus!" Rainbow Dash said. "A Pegasus? Are you nuts?!" Stitch snapped. "He looks nothing like you girly girls!" Agumon said. The animals started to argue as Tai continued eyeing the bushes. Suddenly, a growl is heard and Scar came out. Tai's friends screamed in terror bringing alarm to the others. Everyone, including Shadow, heard this and began to hide in trees.

Rainbow Dash screamed in terror, "It's Scar!" Jake was about to fly off with his wings, "Come on, dawg! Let's get outta here!" Stitch and Agumon began to climb up to Jake's back. "Give meega room! Gangway!" Tai stood there, still. Fluttershy screamed in terror, "Run Tai, run!" Tai simply said, "Run? Why should I run?" Scar raised an eyebrow as he began walking towards the boy. Scar said, frowning, "Why should you run? Could it be possible that you don't know who I am?" Tai said, seriously, "I know you all right. You're Scar the lion." Scar smiled, as he began to circle Tai, "Precisely...then you should also know, Tai my boy..." He began to smack his lips, "That everyone runs from Scar." Tai only smirked, "Why should I run?" This caused the creatures to be worried, except for Scar. "Brave, aren't we?" Scar smirked. He continued, "Now, I'm going to close my eyes and count to ten. It makes the chase more interesting for me."

He began to count, "One...two...three...four..." Tai only stood there. Agumon shouted, concerned, "Tai! Come on! Run!" Tai only stood there, "I'm not afraid of you!" Scar growled, "You're trying my patience, Taichi!" Shadow shouted, in concern, "Run! Tai...run!" Tai looks surprised, this is the first time he heard Shadow showed concern for him. Shadow ran towards Tai. The hedgehog and lion began to fight when Shadow got pummled to the ground. Scar said smiling, "Let go, Shadow! You big oaf!" Tai became angry at this and using his spear and vine, swung, yelled out, and kicked Scar, causing the lion to fall down, injuring his eye with the scar.

Scar growled in pain, "Aaaaahhhh! My eye! You shall pay for this, Taichi!" He smirked as he announced, "Zira, kill him!" Tai's eyes widened in shock as he saw a lioness with tan fur, and red eyes appear. This is Zira and she is ready to fight. "With pleasure, Scar." The animals gasped in horror, especially Cream. Zira was one of the greatest fighters in the jungle. How will Tai fare against her?! Rainbow Dash scowled, "Oooh, that cheating jerk, Scar!" Scar simply smiled evilly and announced, "Let's get ready to rumble!" Zira began to pounce but Tai used his spear to pole-vault to avoid the attack. Tai grabbed a vine and swung to the tree trunk. He looks around, the lioness is no where to be seen. As he looked around, the lioness flew at him. But Tai dodged it and used his spear to defend himself, making Zira fall off the ground.

Zira looks around and sees that her shoulder is bloodied. She growled, "You'll pay for this, you..." She pounces on Tai, and slashes Tai's chest a bit, getting the boy off guard. The creatures watches in concern, except for Scar who smiled as he felt certain that Tai would lose. Tai glared but before he could attack, Zira, using her teeth, broke the spear. Using the spear that was left, Tai used it to get away from Zira. He jumped into a run-down old tree trunk and hid on one of the holes before Zira began to slash Tai (actually the air). Tai, thinking quickly, grabbed a rock and smashed it with Zira's paw, making the lioness scream in pain, and getting trapped at the same time. Tai got out of the trunk, running for the blade part of his spear. Suddenly, Zira jumped at Tai.

Scar grinned maliciously , "My favorite part of the game...Sudden...Death!" The lioness tackled Tai, sending them down a hole. There are fighting sounds for a few good moments until they finally stopped. The creatures, including Shadow, Cream, Jake, Agumon, Stitch, Fluttershy, and Rainbow Dash looked in worry but Scar laughed evilly, "Game...set...match!" They saw a figure coming out. It was Zira. It appears that she won and killed Tai. Scar smiles evilly...but frowns in shock, horror, and anger. Zira wasn't moving, someone was carrying her out. It was Tai, alive and well. The boy dropped his bloodied spear and Zira's dead body to the ground. The animals began to cheer and Cream smiled.

Scar growled , and shouted, "This isn't the end of me! I will get you for killing my beloved!" He ran off. Tai picked up the dead body of the lioness and yelled his jungle yell, but the jungle yell was more awesome! This caused the dragons, Mobians, and Pegasuses to cheer loudly. Cream watched in happiness, proud of her son. The animals began to get out and congratulate Tai. As the animals circled him, complimenting him, Stitch said as he, Jake, and Aguymon walked towards "Outta meega way! Move it! Friends of the hero coming through!" Rainbow Dash shouted, excited, "That was awesome!" Fluttershy nodded, smiling, "I'm impressed..."

Shadow was surprised as he walked towards Tai. Smiling a bit, he says, "Tai. I am proud of you." Tai looks surprised, "But Scar's still out there and-" Shadow said, "No more talk of Scar right now, Tai." Tai is surprised as Shadow continues, "What matters now...is that I owe you my life...and you have earned my trust...my son." Tai smiles a bit, and hugs Shadow, who jumped in surprise. However, the leader smiled as he hugged Tai back. This causes Cream to smile, the relationship between her husband and son is improving. Tai's friends smile as well. In fact, Stitch is touched by this, as he gets tears in his eyes, "This is beautiful...meega not gonna cry. Meega not gonna-" He begins to bawl like a baby and blows his nose on Rainbow Dash, much to her shock and annoyance. "Eww! Stitch! Alien boogers!" Rainbow Dash snapped. Stitch said, sheepishly, "Eh, sorry."

Suddenly, a sound is heard. This causes everyone to stiffen a bit. Tai said, "What was that?" Shadow said, to everyone, "Everybody! We have to go quickly!" Everyone began to move except for Tai, who stood there. He heard another sound. Getting curious, he begins to go where the sound is. Unknown to him, destiny is calling!
