Chapter 9: A Deal Is Made!

Later that day, Gaston was moping around in his seat back at the camp that was far from Professor and the girls. He was livid that Sora chose Tai over him. He began to rant, "Who does that Sora think she is? That girl has tangled with the wrong man...no one says no to Gaston!" LeFou and Alpha looked displeased as well as the former said, "Darn right!" as he poured beer on Gaston's glass. Gaston took a sip of the drink but continued to say angrily, "Dismissed...rejected...publicly humiliated by that...that jungle brat!" He slammed his drink on the table and shouted, "Why it's more than I can bare!" LeFou asked, in hopes to calm the man down, "More beer?"

Gaston said, "What for? Nothing helps...I'm disgraced." Alpha said wagging his tail, "Who, you? Never." LeFou nodded, "Alpha is right, Gaston. You gotta pull yourself together." Gaston thought about for a moment and finally said, "You're right, LeFou. But how?" Then a voice said, "I may have your answer." The three became surprised as Gaston demanded, "Huh? Who said that? Who's there?" Then the owner of the voice appeared. It's Scar. Scar said, "I speak, Gaston." Gaston grabbed his gun and prepared to shot Scar, as he shouted, "Who are you? How do you know my name and how is it that you're able to talk?" Scar began to walk around him, just like he did to Tai. Scar explained, "We animals of this jungle all talk...in our own way. As for my name, I shall tell you. I am Scar...the rightful ruler of this place, and as for your other question...I know your name..." He then smirked evilly, "because I've been watching you and the others for...quite some time. I need your help, Gaston."

Gaston dropped his gun and asked, surprised, "Why?" Scar stopped and said, "Because we have a common enemy." Gaston said, "Who?" Scar pointed at Sora's tent, making Gaston realize that it had to be Tai. Gaston ventured, "Tai?" Scar nodded, "Exactly." He then said, bitterly, "You see...Tai makes me miserable...whereas Tai refuses to tell you where his family is and...from what I hear...he's stolen Sora from you, Gaston." Gaston growled as he remembered the memory of Tai and Sora after the botched proposal by Gaston. Gaston snarled, " Indeed he has..." He then thought and asked himself, "So...how am I gonna get Tai to talk without him suspecting any..." Then there was a stomach growl. Gaston realized it was his stomach and began to go to the refrigerator as he said, "I'm hungry...I can't think on an empty stomach. I gotta have protein...gotta have...eggs." This caused Alpha to become excited, his ears rose, and he said, looking around, "Eggs? Oh boy, oh boy!"

Gaston got a carton of eggs, sat down, placed the eggs on the table, and continued to Scar, "Everyone has their price. All I gotta do is offer him whatever he wants...and then not give it to him, at least not until..." The egg carton begins to move and we see Alpha's paw snatch one of the dozen eggs. LeFou noticed this and said, "Gaston?" Gaston demanded, "What?!" LeFou pointed at Alpha, his mouth full with an egg.

Gaston frowned, "Alpha...Did you take one of my eggs?" Alpha shook his head, as he said, his voice muffled, "No, master." Gaston demanded, "Open your mouth." He checked Alpha's mouth but the dog used his tongue to move the egg. Gaston scolded, "These are not Alpha eggs!" Gaston then turned to Scar as he said, "He won't tell me where the Mobians are..." The egg carton moved as Scar moved it to one side of the table. Scar said, "If we can find his weak spot, we can get to tell him where the clan is." The carton moved again and Scar and Gaston began to move it to different sides, Alpha getting one egg each time. Scar frowned, "But we don't know what the weak spot is." Gaston smirked, "Maybe if we tortured him with a giant red ant hill, that could get him to squeal." Alpha was about to grab one egg when Gaston slammed his paw to the carton. "Ha! Gotcha!" Gaston laughed. Then he scowled, "Listen you! My brain is much better than yours!" He opened the cartons when suddenly, he saw it was empty, Alpha having snatched them all.

Gaston exploded, at his boiling point, "Alpha...if there's one thing I hate more than getting hired by a bumbling professor and three girls, not being allowed to hunt, trap, maim or kill any animal that I want...Tai being stubborn, not telling me where his family is...and stealing Sora away from me...it's you...EATING ALL OF MY EGGS! So I want you to stay away from my...!" Then he stopped and got an idea. Scar thought the same idea as he said, becoming excited, "Tai...in love with Sora? Gaston, you're a genius!" Gaston smirked, "So that's it! That is Tai's Achilles' Heel." but frowned and said," But how do we do this? How do we use Sora?"

Suddenly, a female voice is heard, "I can be of assistance." The four turned around and saw a female Changeling with black fur, blue mane, green eyes, a crooked horn, and moth-eaten wings. She is Chrysalis, queen of the Changelings. Scar raised an eyebrow, "Who are you?" Chrysalis laughed a bit, "I am Chrysalis, queen of the Changelings. I heard your little talk and I believe I can help you. You want to break this Tai and Sora apart, right?" Gaston nodded, excitedly, "Yes! So she can be mine! What can you do?! What can you do?!" Chrysalis scowled, "Patience, mortal. You see, us changelings can be able to twist fate into our hands. We can transform into others," She demonstrated by transforming herself into Sora then changed back to her form, "And I can change how people think..." This caused Gaston and Scar to widen their eyes, look at each other, and smiled.

LeFou asked, "Why are you assisting us?" Chrysalis simply looked at him and said, "My power is fading and I believe I can suck some from Shadow, Cream, and the others. But the voices said Tai is an obstacle." Scar smiled evilly, "We all have a common enemy in Tai...this is perfect."

Chrysalis: In the dark of the night I was tossing and turning/ And the nightmare I had was as bad as can be -/ It scared me out of my wits -/A boy defeating me from my plan/ Then I opened my eyes/ And the nightmare was there in the jungle!

Scar began to scowl as he to began to sing.

Scar: I was once the most powerful lion in all of the land/ When the humans invaded, they made a mistake/ I made the humans pay/ But one little brat got away/ Taichi, beware! Scar is awake!

Gaston, LeFou, Alpha: In the dark of the night/ We will find him/ In the dark of the night, just before dawn/ Revenge will be sweet, when it is all complete/ In the dark of the night

Scar: Tai will be dead!

The hunter, the lion, and the Changeling smirk evilly as they continued singing. The background turned eerie green making LeFou and Alpha cower a bit.

Chrysalis: I can feel that my powers are slowly returning

Gaston: Grab my arrows and my gun for that blood!/ As he falls down on the ground/ I'll see his dead blank eyes/ Adeiu, Tai you jungle brat/ Farewell!

Gaston, Scar, Chrysalis: In the dark of the night terror will strike him/ In the dark of the night evil will brew/ Soon he will see that we can't be defeated/ In the dark of the night/ He'll be through

Scar began to roar and he summoned Kaa the snake, The Hyenas Shenzi, Banzai, and Ed, Gilda the Griffin, Vlad Vladikoff, The Diamond Dogs (My Little Pony).

Scar: Come my minions,/ Rise for your master,/ Let your evil shine!/ Find him now,/ Yes, slither ever faster

Kaa, Shenzi, Banzai, Ed, Gilda, Vlad, Diamond Dogs: In the dark of the night.../ In the dark of the night.../ In the dark of the night..

Gaston: Sora will be mine!

The animals stopped and Kaa smiled devilishly as he slithered off. He was coming up with an evil plan.

Meanwhile, Sora was at the bank of the water, laughing a bit, as she saw Tai move in the jungle vines. It was nice to see the wild side as well, and get away from Gaston as well. She was still shaken from Gaston's proposal. Seriously, she didn't want to be the wife of some boorish, close-minded man. She sighed, and took off her shoes and socks. She smiled, dipping her feet. The jungle, once one got past the crazy animals, was nice and calm. She now had gotten used to the wild life and liked it. Maybe even more than her urban life...

Then, she heard Tai shout, "Sora-chan!" She looked up and saw Tai. He smiled, as he placed a golden flower on her hair. This caused Sora to blush and she smiled a bit. Whenever she was with him, she felt happy and sweet. However, she frowned a bit. She knew she was in love but she didn't want to accept it. Not after what had happened to her a few months ago.

"Wait...what? She's your..."

"Yup, she's my girlfriend."

Sora smiled and said to Tai, "Oh, Tai. That's so sweet. Thanks." The two blushed. Unknown to them, an evil familiar snake was looking at them. He was ready to bite the young jungle boy. Smirking, he slithered towards them faster. Sora noticed this and became pale. Tai asked, not noticing Kaa, "Sora-chan, what's the matter?" Kaa then pounced on Tai. Tai watched in shocked but Sora pushed him out of the way. However, she ended up getting bitten, making her scream in pain.

"Sora!" Tai shouted, worriedly as the girl fell down, barely conscious. He got her as he shouted worriedly, "Hold on, Sora-chan! Sora-chan!" Kaa scowled and slithered back to his home, however, he saw Tai getting Sora and running back to the camp. Kaa said, raising an eyebrow, "Hmm...perhaps offing the girl wasn't such a bad idea." With that, he slithered away. 

Meanwhile, a worried Professor, Tai, Dawn, and Ami were surrounding an unconscious Sora, lying on her bed. The girl had gotten poison and nobody, not even the Professor, knew what to do. She appeared to be in near death. Finally, he said, sadly, "There doesn't seem to be any hope." Dawn and Ami began to cry, thinking that Sora was going to die. Tai said, sadly, "This is all my fault..." He stroked her hair, which still had the golden flower on, a bit, and one single tear fell from his eye. Suddenly, the flower on Sora's hair began to glow a bit. The people watched in shocked.

Female Voice: Flower gleam and glow,/ Let your power shine,/ Make the clock reverse,/ Bring back what once was mine./ Heal what has been hurt,/ Change the fates design,/ Save what has been lost,/ Bring back what once was mine,/ What once was mine...

Sora's snake wound started to heal, until finally it was gone. At the moment the wound was healed, the color on Sora's skin returned and she breathed in, regaining consciousness. She was cured from the snake poison! She opened her eyes and sat up, "Where am I?" Professor, Ami, and Dawn shouted in relief and happiness that Sora was alive and well, "Sora!" Tai just hugged her which made her jump a bit but she smiled.

Professor said, "Amazing..." as he recalled what happened. Earlier, Sora was dying and now, it was as though Sora wasn't even bitten by the snake to begin with. What could have saved his adopted daughter? Could it be the Golden Flower on her hair?
