I just realized in my fanmake career I've never seriously attempted a The Little Mermaid fanmake. Have I toyed with the idea? Yes, but never attempted it. Until now...basically UniversalStudiosGeek and Tohokari-Steel were discussing episodes of the TV spinoff on Disney's Hercules. They reached an episode where there was Medusa, portrayed very sympathetically which I like. Ultimately it wasn't long before it snowballed into an idea to adapt that episode into a The Little Mermaid fanmake. UniversalStudiosGeek was the one who suggested the idea and...how could I refuse?~ Also not only is this my The Little Mermaid fanmake, it's also one where all the characters come from the same franchise.

The Little Gorgon

Summary : A gorgon named Medusa has dreams of making friends and finding love, a task not so easy courtesy of her ability to turn people to stone. Upon saving aspiring hero Hercules, she falls for him. Her adoptive father Typhon finds out and isn’t pleased to say the least. Determined to be with Hercules and be human again, she makes a faustian deal with Hades to be human. Trading her voice to be a normal human, she has a week to kiss Hercules? Can these two love birds find love in each other or will Hades have a new ‘helper’ while unleashing the titans that could lead to disaster?

This is less of a fanmake and more of a parody if you will. Something for fun that I hope will make people laugh. Got inspired by a few works such as UniversalStudiosGeek's Peter Pan fanmake based on 'Peter Pan Goes Wrong' and this inspired me to do this little number.

Summary : Little Brackswellson Angels Elementary School is putting on their annual Winter play, this time on the classic 'Phantom of the Opera'. Too bad the director is a total primadonna who can't care enough for the kids' wellbeing and health and a good chunk of the cast are total noobs. Can the school survive in one piece while the show goes on? Doubtful.

Cast :

Director - Mr. Robert Rochelle (Alvin and the Chipmunks Meet the Wolfman; more obsessed with the play going well than the wellbeing of any of the students which leads to disaster)

Titular Phantom of the Opera - Taichi “Tai” Kamiya (Digimon franchise; gets struck with rather bad luck during the production of the play, culminating to a rather shocking demise)

Christine Daaé - Lillie Aether (Pokémon Sun and Moon; actually is looking forward to the play but similar to Tai gets struck with bad luck, albeit not to the extent of Tai’s)

Raoul de Chagny - Ash Ketchum (Pokémon franchise; only participated in the play to get extra credit, is a horrid singer, and barely can remember his lines)

Carlotta Giudicelli - Misty Waterflower (Pokémon franchise; wanted the lead female role and is sorely upset about her role as the mean diva; changes her tune after the play)

Monsieur Gilles André and Monsieur Richard Firmin - Phineas Flynn and Ferb Fletcher (Phineas and Ferb; probably the only two aside from Lillie and the guy playing the tree taking this play seriously and giving it their go)

Ubaldo Piangi - Harold Berman (Hey Arnold; is pretty gassy throughout the play and Tai finds it difficult to tie him up in the infamous hanging scene)

Joseph Buquet - Ben Tennyson (Ben 10 franchise; is a complete and utter shit head through out the play, just like Ash probably is only there solely for extra credit)

Madame and Meg Giry - Usagi/Serena Tsukino (Sailor Moon; completely hammy in her acting , can't remember her lines, and too oblivious to notice anything bad going on) and Mai Valentine (Yu-Gi-Oh; part of the ‘zero interest in this play but gimme extra credit because I failed that test’ club)

And last but certainly the MOST IMPORTANT role….

The Tree - Brock Peters (Pokémon franchise; Mr. Rochelle felt bad for him and wanted him to have a role so he cast him as a tree.)

An Open Letter to MelaGirl

Okay, this is going to be a weird one. This is going to be a half rant/half letter to someone whom I’ve never actually talked to. This isn’t like in the case of KavehtheTepigKid or AmagiriErika where I’ve directly talked to them about their bullshit and when they wouldn’t listen, I told them off in a journal not different from this. I’ve never had any contact with MelaGirl, however after what my friends have told me, I’m glad I don’t.

For those of you who may be confused as hell, to which I don’t blame you, MelaGirl is…very clingy. I suppose I should begin from the beginning.

BEEKBEEK85 SAGA (2014/2015? - 2020)

Mela was formerly friends with a good friend of mine BeekBeek85 back when she was BeekerMaroo777. They had met around 2014, 2015 at the latest. According to BeekBeek85 when talking to her over her experiences with Mela, in hindsight, Mela had shown signs that she was rather clingy to her friends. Beek did not recognize these signs, which to her credit, is understandable. We don’t see red flags in relationships when we’re interacting with people the first time. You don’t really expect friends to treat you in any negative way basically. However things went downhill for the two when BeekerMaroo777 evolved into BeekBeek85.

First incident was when both Mela and Beek got Pokemon Sun and Moon. Both had different strategies on how to play. Mela focused more on the story while Beek was more interested in, catching them all!~, in her own pace of course. While Beek was on the third island, Mela told Beek an important spoiler that occurs in the games. Something that upset Beek greatly.

The second incident occurred when Beek became interested in Nuzlocke. Beek wanted time for herself which she is justified in doing so in my opinion. Life isn’t just looking at a screen and just that y’know. Mela pestered Beek into hanging out with her, bringing in another person into the fray. Beek frustrated cut off contact with them…only to reconcile because guilt got the best of her. Around 2020, Mela continued pestering on Beek to get interested in a mobile game called Cookie Run. Finally Beek had enough of her attitude and blocked her for good as of 2020.

KITTYMCGEEKY97 SAGA (2015/2016? - PRESENT/2021)

KittyMcGeeky97 is a good friend of mine. She got to know Mela over through Beek, sharing an interest in Total Drama back when Ridonculous Race was premiering I’m guessing. Kitty did admit that Mela was acting pushy herself but didn’t consider anything wrong with it. Interaction between the few was few and between and generally cordial. However, around 2017, 2018 at latest, Kitty stated that’s when the ‘cracks were starting to form’. So Mela would often show Kitty some stuff, which isn’t wrong by any means. After all, when we see something awesome, we want to show our loved ones. What made Kitty uncomfortable was that Mela would put her in the spot, asking Kitty, “what she’d think?” It was overwhelming for Kitty especially when it concerned subject matter she had no idea about.

Here’s the kicker. Kitty would often want to show Mela certain things about a franchise she’d like…but Mela would show she didn’t care, even outright stating she didn’t care. One instance was when Kitty spent hours doing a head canon chart of the South Park character eyes and what was Mela’s response? “I don’t care.” Completely blunt and it left Kitty hurt. Another instance was that Kitty showed Mela an image she found funny (Eds cosplaying as Naruto characters). Mela responded a bit more politely and worded her response better :”Not my thing but thanks”. It still made Kitty upset in a way. Notice the difference. It’s a-okay for Mela, in Mela’s eyes to bombard Kitty with subject after subject about stuff Kitty doesn’t know about. But when Kitty does it? Mela responds in a blunt matter. It should be noted she hasn’t changed much.

I think one of the worse things Mela has done to Kitty was when she tried to get Sumer-Breeze to unblock her and Mela’s friend Kawaii, even when it was clear Sumer wanted nothing to do with Mela or Kawaii. I’m sorry but you don’t involve friends in this type of drama. Especially when a) they had no part in this drama and b) when the opposing person made it clear that they just want it to die. Also around….2019ish I’ll say?, the two began conversing in Discord. Mela…wouldn’t leave Kitty alone, pressuring her into playing games where while Kitty appreciated, she felt it was pushing it too hard. Mela would on occasion pressure Kitty, trying to get her to play a game that she wasn’t interested in. Whenever Mela wanted something she’d pressure Kitty into talking to her but hardly showed interest in the things Kitty wanted to show. Annoying isn’t it?

Well why don’t we go from annoying to dramatic then.

Beek got fed up with Mela and put her on a ‘temporary’ end to their friendship…that was made permanent because Mela wouldn’t stop bitching about it. Mela would bitch to Kitty and refuse to take any consolation no matter how hard the latter tried.

Also, I’m aware that she started planning a birthday gift contest or compilation for herself on the day before Kitty’s birthday. I find that really rude and disrespectful. It felt like she was focusing more on herself than Kitty honestly. Like she was trying to steal the attention from Kitty.

NOPE, SHE HASN’T CHANGED

You could make the argument that “maybe she’s matured about it”, and I would be inclined to agree…except well….

Also this reaction about the new Pearl remake isn't the way to act. I understand the sentiment but it seems bitchy...

GIFT-BEGGING

Mela, asking for gifts from people that you don't know is a big no. You need to calm down. Just because you watch someone doesn't mean you deserve a gift from them.

IN CONCLUSION

Okay, to Mela, I have this to say :

You need to appreciate your friends more often and learn that friendship is in fact a two way street. There are people out there who are willing to give you a hand, make your day brighter and you just choose to start drama and all this jazz. I get it, life can be a bitch sometimes. However, demanding gifts for your birthday from people you watch, demanding people unblock, and demand that the attention be on yourself? That’s not a way to cope.

Mela, this is going to be harsh but you need to hear it. You’re not special. The world doesn’t revolve around you. People can like the things you don’t like and reverse. That doesn’t make them bad people.

I think you need to let the conflict with Beek and you die. As for what I said about friendship being a two way street, listen clearly :

It’s not just ‘oh you comfort me~ but if you’re upset I’m outie lol”. No, when someone laments to you about something and they’ve been comforting you about your own issues, you be there for them. You show your appreciation for them by engaging in what they like just like they engage in what you like even if it doesn’t interest you.

I hope you take this advice, soundly, and let it sink in.

Warning about AmagiriJanErika (Plus Riff Resurrection!)

Okay, I want to make this warning fairly quick. If you’re a fan of ships like for example Pokeshipping, NaruSaku, IchiRukia, basically any tsundere/main guy ship, you need to listen super close.

There’s this person on DA with a huge hateboner for (at the very least) most Tsunderes. If you guys haven’t guessed by the title, it’s this little brat who calls herself AmagiriJanErika. And let me tell you, she hates tsunderes a lot. Like an effing lot. And hey, I wouldn’t mind this too much honestly. We all have character archetypes that we hate but others really love. For example, I really don’t like the yandere archetype, even though (sometimes at least) it feels like the anime fanbase worship and kiss the fucking ground that these yanderes walk on. But I understand people like them and that’s okay.

…Not AmagiriJanErika with her hate for the tsundere archetype. So she may be a coward too. Okay, yes, I was super harsh when I called her out. I will plead guilty to that. HOWEVER, here’s what miffs me. You can’t force people to not swear. I’m sorry but being all “STOP SWEARING!11!1!!!1” and expecting people to be bow down to the princess? Yeah, not going to happen. It’s freedom of speech, in the internet. People are allowed to curse if they feel it gets to the point.

But here’s where I’m really annoyed. She previously had attacked Cross-Light for a meme she had used. Could Cross-Light have decided not to use the meme? Yes. BUT it didn’t warrant this response.
